Rarely will you ever find that images straight out of the camera are ready for printing as-is. Especially when high image quality is an important factor. There is a certain amount of "post processing" done to all images prior to the final printing process in order to insure the highest quality prints.

The portrait proofs you will see online, are images straight out of the camera and in raw form. In other words, no adjustments have been made at this point in the process. The image editing task takes place later in the production process, before any image is printed and only for/on the images you choose for your final prints.

With the above in mind, when viewing your portrait proofs please remember that a few small adjustments can make a considerable difference in the way your final image will look. Try to ignore certain issues that a little cropping, centering, straightening, lightening or darkening adjustments can easily resolve. In other words, if you find just the right image but it is slightly crooked or has too much space at the top etc., don't let that steer you away from an otherwise good image. Also, due to your computers brightness & contrast settings the images may appear dark or light depending upon your monitor (settings). Please rest assured that your final prints will be perfectly processed to insure only the highest quality prints.

Here is an example of an image where few minor adjustments were made, which helped turn an average image into a pretty good one.

Ordering your portraits

Once you have gone through and chosen your favorite images and the package/prints you would like please call Dave at 315-452-1456 and place your order by phone (or e-mail if you prefer: dave@dtstudios.com). You can also use this form to submit your selections. I will need the image numbers, the print sizes, and quantity of each to complete your order. Some common questions and answers about ordering portrait prints:

Q: Do I have to order a package or can I make my own package?
A: Our packages are put together with the most common requests from customers in mind. They are meant to be a starting-off point for your order. Any package can be altered to suit your personal needs. Please feel free to add, subtract or substitute like-priced products and your package total will be re figured accordingly. Or you can make your own package using the Individual Products Menu. Once your order total has been figured you will be given a discount on your package comparable to an existing "like priced" package.

Q: Can you please explain "Image Retouching", how many images are allowed in my package and additional retouching charges I may receive?
A: All images you select for your package/prints must be edited & retouched prior to being printed, to insure the highest quality prints. Each package allows for a certain number of retouches (included in the package price). After that number has been reached there is a $10.00 charge for each additional image you want included within your package (retouched). You can use as many images as you wish to make up your package.

Example: You would like to order package #1, and you want to make up your package using 2 different images. Package #1 allows for 1 Image retouch (included in the price), so you would be charged an additional $10.00 for the second image to be retouched.
