The following are questions we are asked from time to time. We
will try very hard to keep this list current and add to it often.
Q:How
do I locate the image number of a photo that is posted online?
A:To find the 'Image Number' of a photo: 1.) Find your event on
our site and open the folder by clicking on your team/event name.
2.) Click on a thumbnail sized image. This will bring up a larger
version of the photo. 3.) At the 'top-center' of the main frame
you will see something like the following: 45 of 456. In this
example, the photo number would be #45.
Q:When
I order a collage online, how do I order the rest of the photos
in the collage without getting charged for multiple collages?
A:Among all the products you see in the product drop down list
(next to the large version of your photo), there is an option
you can select named 'Collage Image'. Use this option when ordering
the remaining photos for your collage and no additional charges
will be added to your order.
Q:Can
a photo be cropped to focus more on my son/daughter?
Q: The photo seems a little dark, can it be brightened?
A:Yes and yes. Every single photo undergoes a careful editing
process before it's printed. All photos are cropped to get the
best composition (unless it's not needed), color corrected to
make adjustments for poor lighting conditions and sharpened when
the focus is a little off. You can see an example below.

Q:How
can I include instructions with my order?
A:After you have filled your shopping cart and you are going through
the checkout process, you will be presented with a window where
you can send me 'Comments or Instructions'. This is where you
can let me know of any design suggestions you may have. This is
also where you will type in the athletes number, name & position
(the team and year I will already know).
Q:Can
I get a price discount if I want to order a large quantity of
prints?
A:Yes, all you have to do is call and let me know how many copies
you need and I can see if I can give you a discount based on how
many prints you want to order. Large quantity orders must be completed
by phone in order to get a discount.
Q:Can
you come out to photograph action shots of my other son/daughter
at their next sporting event?
A:This is always a case-by-case matter. There is often some red
tape that has to be addressed before I can legally photograph
different sports. Generally speaking, I will always try to come
out and shoot by request if ultimately it would be worth the time
and effort to do so. Please don't hesitate to call or e-mail with
your request and I assure you I will give it consideration and
come out if possible.
Q:How
do I give you the text information that will appear on the collage
or trading card I order?
A:After you have filled your shopping cart and you are going through
the checkout process, you will be presented with a window where
you can send me 'Comments or Instructions'. This is where you
will type in the athletes number, name & position (the team
and year I will already know). This is also where you can let
me know of any design suggestions you may have.
Q:Can
you crop one of my sons/daughters photos so they are closer to
the center of the photo?
A:Every single photo ordered at DT Studios goes through an editing
process prior to printing. Cropping for best composition, color
correction if necessary and sharpening are all part of that careful
process. Your son or daughter will be as large and balanced in
the frame as possible, without being too crowded or cropping out
important elements of the picture.
Q:Can
I order by phone instead of using my credit card online?
A:Absolutely. We understand that there are folks out there who
would rather not order online. We can not accept credit cards
by phone however, orders by phone must be paid by check, cash
or money order.
Q:Can
I use a credit card for phone orders?
A:At this point in time, we can not accept credit cards by phone
or at our studio. All orders by phone must be paid by check, cash
or money order.
Q:Can
I save on shipping if I pick up my order?
A:Most of the time the answer would be no (unfortunately). I do
not operate a photo lab here locally. The photo lab I use for
all my processing ships directly to all my customers from Houston,
Texas. It costs a few dollars more but their outstanding quality
and quick turn around time are worth it.
Q:What
if I want to order a collage but I can't find as many images as
required?
A:Oftentimes, collages look much better with fewer images. It
enables the photos to be larger and more detailed and also benefit
from being un-crowded and less busy.
Q:I
put my images into an online album but now I can't find the image
numbers?
A:If you have already placed your images in an album at the store
you can find the image numbers by doing the following:
1.) Each image within the album appears with three small icons
along the left side of it. A shopping cart symbol, a magnifying
glass symbol and an envelope symbol. 2.) Click on the magnifying
glass it will bring you to a page that shows the image number.
Q:Do
you do any other photography besides sports?
A:I have tried a lot of different areas of photography. What I
enjoy most is shooting portraits (and just about anything else
that is a challenge for me).
Q:How
long will my sons/daughters event be available online?
A:It all depends on my servers storage space. So it's difficult
to say specifically, but generally speaking an event lasts online
for about a year. Please don't wait too long to order your photos.
A year is enough time and these images hold memories that you
will cherish for your life time and your child's lifetime.
Q:You
photographed my son/daughter last year and it's no longer available
online. Can I still order photos?
A:This is a question that has me pulling my hair out. In the past
several years, I have had approximately a dozen different requests
to see if I can dig through my archives for past events. Each
time, I have taken the time locate them and re-post them online,
it has never resulted in a single order. I wouldn't mind putting
out the effort as long as I knew the favor would be acknowledged
to some degree.
Q:How
long until I receive my order?
A:Most orders take approximately five working days from the day
they are submitted to the lab, until they land on your doorstep.
Under normal circumstances that is, there are exceptions. Ordering
Priority mail delivery can make a big difference during the busier
mail periods.
Q:Can
you frame my collage order?
A:Yes, we now do quite a bit of framing. Something new here at
DT Studios. Please call for more information. Generally it can
cost in the $30-50 range to have a print framed and matted.
